[Review+Swatch] China Glaze Surprise Collection for Spring 2014

Surprise! Filled with pastels and brights, these fun glitters are from China Glaze's newest spring collection. The glitters are clear-based glitter toppers meant for layering over other colors. I decided to pair them with polishes from China Glaze's new City Flourish Collection since the colors really complement each other. All swatches are shown with one coat of Seche Vite top coat.

Glimmer More, 2 coats over ChG Spring In My Step: medium metallic fuchsia and large matte glitters in peach, pink, and yellow. I found the first coat a bit thin, but once I swirled the brush around in the bottle, I had no problem getting the glitter out. They do, however, move easily on the nail, so I recommend dabbing on the first coat.

Shine-nanigans, 2 coats over ChG In A Lily Bit: medium metallic hexes in fuchsia and violet, paired with larger matte lime green glitters. This one applied much better than Glimmer More. It's packed with a lot of glitter and applies easily.

Glitter Up, 2 coats over ChG What A Pansy: medium metallic violet hexes paired with large matte glitters in the colors peach, light pink, and sky blue. Application was easy, but dabbing is still recommended for best results.

Verdict: I love matte glitters and these look spectacular over the City Flourish shades! I really enjoyed wearing each of these combos. The formula is on the thinner side, but they were still fairly easy to apply and offered great coverage.

Availability:  China Glaze Surprise is a limited edition collection that will be available in April 2014 at fine salons and beauty supply stores for $7.50 MSRP.
